To Be Successful in 4th Grade
Triangles are one of the strongest shapes. They are used in the structures of bridges and buildings. A student's education is built on the premise of the triangle: one side being the parents; one is the teacher/school; and the third side is the student. The parents need to provide the stable home environment so the student can concentrate
in school. The parents also need to provide the support so the student can do his or her homework each night. The student needs to provide the effort to learn and take responsiblilty for getting his or her homework home to finish. The teacher/school needs to provide the secure environment, instruction, and support to help the student learn. It takes all three of these components to build a strong educational foundation for each student. It is my hope we can each do our part to ensure your student has the best educational experience possible.
To help in this endeavor, each student in Mrs. Yanish's classroom has an academic planner. It should be filled out first thing each morning by the student. Mrs. Yanish signs off each assignment the student has completed at the end of every day. A parent should be going over the academic planner with the student each night to see if the student has any homework. Whatever assignments are not completed are circled by Mrs. Yanish should be completed that night and brought back to school the next day. Remember each lesson and/or assignment builds upon one another.
